If we're going by Earth's rotation around the sun, it's not quite officially summer. But at RCRG, we mark the seasons a little differently. In our office, spring ends the day our summer co-op students arrive, which, this year, was May 13. The students always make our office a little brighter, a little more vibrant. They make it feel like summer has come early.
We'd like to extend a warm welcome, first, to Louise Cham, whose time will be split between two programs. As part of our Information & Volunteer Centre, she'll be updating all 529 listings in our Community Services Directory. On occasion, she'll also fill in at our front desk, greeting visitors, answering the phone, and helping clients access community resources.
The rest of her time will be spent with our Child Care Resource & Referral Centre, where she'll provide administrative support and assist with a variety of projects, including a child care fee survey.
We're equally excited to welcome Viann Fung, who's joining our Seniors Community Support Services team. Though working in just one department, Viann will never get bored! Some days, she'll help with our grocery shopping program. Others, she'll support our transportation and friendly visiting services. And on others still, she'll work with our Family & Friend Caregiver Hub, assisting staff and facilitators during workshops and field trips.
We look forward to having Louise and Viann here for the summer. We know they'll both contribute a lot to RCRG, and we hope, in turn, we can provide an enriching and memorable work experience.
We gratefully acknowledge the support of the Canada Summer Jobs program in creating these positions.
