New Urgent and Primary Care Centre open in Richmond

Published April 12, 2021

We are excited to share that Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) has opened Richmond’s first Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) at the Community Health Access Centre on Alderbridge Way to provide people with urgent, after-hours health-care services.

UPCCs provide care for people who are experiencing unexpected, non-life-threatening health concerns that need same-day treatment, such as sprains, fever, infections or cuts, and do not require a trip to the emergency department.

The Richmond UPCC brings more health-care options into the community, making it easier to access care, receive follow-up care and connect to support services within the community. The UPCC does not replace emergency departments for life-threatening conditions such as heart attack, stroke and major trauma.

You can visit the Richmond UPCC at 7671 Alderbridge Way on the third floor of the Community Health Access Centre (CHAC) during the following hours:

  • 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Friday
  • 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays
  • 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays and holidays.
