Community Giving Campaigns by RCRG

Every day, hundreds of non-profit organizations work tirelessly to improve the lives of Richmond residents. Some focus their efforts on children, while others offer services for seniors, newcomers, or people with disabilities. There are organizations devoted to the arts, and others committed to the environment, sports and recreation, animal welfare - the list goes on and on!

Simply put, if there's a cause you care about, there's a Richmond organization to match. In fact, there are probably several! We want to help you discover these organizations, and give you opportunities to support them.

That's why we started Community Giving Campaigns. Every few months, we'll highlight one or more local organizations, and include links so you can easily make a donation, contribute to a forever fund, or become a volunteer.

Richmond's vibrant charitable sector may well be the best kept secret in our community. It's a secret we look forward to sharing.

Campaign #1: Richmond Women's Resource Centre

For our first Community Giving Campaign, we've chosen to shine a spotlight on the Richmond Women's Resource Centre (RWRC).

Founded in 1976, the RWRC provides a supportive environment in which all women are encouraged and enabled to achieve their fullest potential. The organization's programs and services include English writing and conversation classes, work readiness training, and a monthly movie night. The RWRC also runs a creative writing program for teen girls, called Hot Ink, and support groups for grandmothers, French-speaking women, and single mothers.

How You Can Offer Your Support

1) Make An Online Donation

You can donate directly to the Richmond Women's Resource Centre by visiting their RCRG Member Profile and clicking 'Donate Here.' Your gift will be processed by Chimp, our online giving partner, who will also provide you with an electronic tax receipt. Once processed, your donation will be added to the overall total on the RWRC's Chimp Campaign page.

2) Contribute to the RWRC's Forever Fund

You can support the long-term sustainability of the Richmond Women's Resource Centre by donating to the organization's forever fund. The fund is managed by the Richmond Community Foundation, who will issue an electronic tax receipt following your donation.
